Hi folks,
We think John Kaufmann can testify earlier tomorrow morning
(Wednesday) than we expected to the Senate Natural Resources and
Energy Committee on peak oil. We're going to try to have him testify
right after our testimony, around 9:30 am.

John Kaufmann is a Senior Policy Analyst in the Conservation Division
of the Oregon Department of Energy. He participated in the Portland
Peak Oil Task Force, and he has addressed the Connecticut Peak Oil
Caucus in the legislature. He will be speaking from a presentation
that he gave at the annual meeting of the North American chapter of
the Association for the Study of Peak Oil and Gas (ASPO) in Houston
this past October. The title of his talk is "Descending the oil peak:
Navigating the transition from oil (Portland Peak Oil Task Force
Report)."

John will be using his slides from his Houston presentation in
October at the Association for the Study of Peak Oil and Gas. If you
want to preview them, they are at:
http://www.aspousa.org/proceedings/houston/presentations/John%20Kaufmann%20Portland%20PO%20Task%20Force.pdf

As a final reminder, my testimony will be at 9 am. I'll be
testifying, based on the work that some of you have helped pull
together. If you'd like to come along, it would really help to show
the senators the grassroots support that this topic has.

The testimony is in Room 8 of the Statehouse, the Senate Natural
Resources and Energy Committee's room. It's on the first floor, the
east-ish wing. (The Statehouse faces somewhat west of south.)

For those who wish to discuss strategy, etc., we're meeting in the
Statehouse cafeteria at 8:30 am.

Scott Printz is coming up from Bennington, crossing over at Rutland,
and is willing to pick up someone along the way. Contact him at
scottprintz at gmail.com.

Also, Thia would like a ride from Burlington, or at least a ride back
to Burlington. Contact her at
tea at animalanswers.info

Thanks!

Cheers,
Carl

PS If you're not available to be in the statehouse tomorrow, please
beam us some good wishes. Thanks!
