Hi folks,
Thank you for your interest in joining the Vermont Peak Oil Political
Action Group. The group is forming at an opportune time, as there is
interest from key legislators to move legislation related to peak oil
forward. We need your help now to help craft the message to them and
in January to show your support for the message.

As we discussed at the last Vermont Peak Oil Network meeting, a group
of us in the Political Action Group (PAG) are working on our own peak
oil report, which we plan to present to the legislature in January.
The Senate Natural Resources and Energy Committee will be considering
legislation during its first weeks that the chair, Ginny Lyons,
wishes to incorporate policies related to peak oil into. We are
slated to testify to her committee in one of the first two weeks of
the session.

We want to get a broad range of views from our group included in the
report. To that end, a small group of us have worked to create a
rough draft. We would like your help in commenting on the draft of
the report next week.

Yes, I know it's a poor time of the year for that sort of thing, but
the report will only be 20-25 pages. And you can choose to
concentrate on one or several sections, if you wish.

Early next week, I'll send you information on how to download a draft
of the report. We'll have a blog set up where you can leave your
comments. We will also give you an email address to submit comments
to.

We're excited about this opportunity to make a difference in
Vermont's future. Please set aside some time next week to send us
your comments. Comments will be accepted until the end of the year.

Thanks, and happy holidays!

Cheers,
Carl
